Are my files uploaded anywhere? No. Every tool runs entirely on your device — there is no server and no network call in any PDF operation.
Can the app open a PDF whose password I don't know? No. PDF Toolbox removes a password you already know, or owner restrictions on files that open without a prompt. It does not crack or guess passwords — by design.
Where do my finished files go? Every tool ends in the share sheet, so you can save to Files or send the result to any app you like.
